What We Believe

We Believe

THE BIBLE
The Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God and the authority for salvation and Christian living.

ONE GOD
There is one God, who has revealed Himself as our Father, in His Son Jesus Christ, and as the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is God manifested in flesh. He is both God and man. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 2:9; 1 Timothy 3:16)

JESUS
Jesus is the "visible image of the invisible God." He was begotten of the Father, conceived of the Holy Spirit, and born of a virgin birth. He was crucified, buried and rose from the dead to pay for our sins and give us eternal life.

SALVATION
Everyone has sinned and needs salvation. Full salvation comes by grace through faith based on the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. One must be Born Again of water and of the Spirit by the regeneration of the heart (makes our soul alive) to enter into the Kingdom of God. (Romans 3:23-25; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 3:5; Titus 3:5; 1 Peter 1:23;)

REPENTANCE
After God makes our soul alive by regeneration, He gives us the desire and the power to repent. (Ephesians 2:4-5) The repentance we do, as inspired and empowered by God's Spirit, it is our regenerated soul acknowledging and accepting what God has already done for us in Jesus. Repentance is turning from anyone or anything other than God to be God or one's savior. (1 John 5:20-21) It not only means to turn away from one's sinful attempts to be God and to glorify oneself, it also means turning from any attempts to be right with God by one's own personal righteousness. (Philippians 3:9)

WATER BAPTISM
After salvation, we are commanded to be water baptized by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, as an outer witness of the inner change that has already taken place. Water baptism is a symbolic burial, by which the new Christian publicly declares they have died to the old life and now beginning a new life in Christ.  (Mark 16:16)

BAPTISM OF THE HOLY GHOST
Being baptized with the Holy Ghost is a gift from God as promised by the Lord Jesus Christ to Believers, received subsequent to the New Birth. This experience is accompanied by speaking in other tongues as the Holy Spirit Himself gives utterance. The Baptism with the Holy Ghost is given to the Believer to equip them for ministry, giving them power to live a Holy life and to do the works of Jesus. (Acts 1:4-5,8)

HOLINESS
We teach that a Born Again Believer should live a life pleasing to God in every aspect of their life. One cannot become holy by things they do. The Bible states that we only become holy by the righteousness of God through Jesus Christ. Therefore, there may be many different things that are sanctified or set aside for Him and we must rely on the Holy Spirit to be our Consultant and Guide in areas of dress, conduct, amusements, speech and all other activities, through teaching these three principles taught in God's Word: Modesty, Motive and Moderation. (1 Timothy 2:9; Hebrews 4:12; 1 Samuel 16:7; Philippians 4:5; John 7:24; Romans 12:1-2; Galatians 5:16-26)

MIRACLES & HEALING
Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). God can heal, deliver and work miracles. Our  Salvation includes redemption for the whole man: body, soul and spirit. God is concerned not only about our spiritual well being, but also about our physical and emotional wholeness as well. (1 Thessalonians 5:23)

The threefold atonement is recorded in Isaiah 53:1-10. The greatest Old Testament Prophecy related to the redemptive assignment of Christ is recorded here. Fulfillment of this prophecy points to the life and ministry of Christ.

Isaiah, God's anointed prophet, revealed a threefold redemptive work that would be accomplished through the suffering Messiah. Isaiah 53:3 reveals the mystery:

1.  He was wounded for our transgressions and bruised for our iniquity. This speaks of SPIRITUAL HEALING and is related to the forgiveness of sins.
2.  The chastisement of our peace was upon Him. This speaks of EMOTIONAL HEALING for the mind and soul.
3.  With His stripes we are healed. This refers to PHYSICAL HEALING for the body.

Spiritual healing transforms the human spirit: emotional healing renews the mind; and physical healing brings healing and life to the physical body. Healing for the whole person
represents Christ's assignment or three-part atonement.

PRAYING THE WORD
We find it very effective to make a practice of "Praying the Word" during our time of communing with God and over our circumstances of life.

CHRIST'S RETURN
Jesus Christ is coming again to catch away His Church. In the end will be the final resurrection and the final judgment. The righteous will inherit eternal life, and the unrighteous eternal death. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:11-15)
